The Sunset Island Festival announce their 2009 charity of the year

Isle News, 7 April 2009 – The Sunset Island Festival, an organisation set up in 2008 to raise funds for local Isle of Man registered charities, have announced their charity of the year for 2009.

Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation has been chosen to benefit from the fundraising during 2009. The charity was chosen after a number of submissions were received following an appeal through local media.

Commenting on the decision to support the Heartstrong Foundation, Carole Male Chief Fundraiser said “We are delighted to be able to assist such a wonderful cause set up in the memory of a talented young man. Whilst it was difficult to turn down the other requests we feel that the work the foundation have done in the past has been fantastic and we are only too happy to help them build on there achievements”.

Chairman of Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation, Paul Healey was delighted, saying “Having the Sunset Island Festival fundraise alongside us during 2009 will ensure we can achieve our goals and provide more screening sessions than ever before. The committee of Craig’s Heartstrong are looking forward to working alongside Sunset Island.”
