Sure appoints new Country Manager

Isle News, 20 April 2009 – Telecoms company, Sure has a new Country Manager.

Mike Stanton has 34 years’ experience in telecoms and has lived and worked in the Isle of Man since 2000. He is now responsible for managing Sure in the Isle of Man, which is part of Cable & Wireless’ Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Bermuda portfolio.

Mr Stanton began his career as a British Telecoms (BT) apprentice and worked for the company in a wide range of roles, including project managing a series of major consultancy projects and implementing business solutions for BT Belgium. He worked with, and then for, Manx Telecom from 2000-2007 as Corporate Solutions Manager, responsible for product launch and in-life management of the company’s business voice and data portfolio. Latterly, he was General Manager of e-llan Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Manx Electricity Authority, responsible for optimising the commercial potential of the company’s subsea fibre optic cable to the UK.

Mr Stanton holds a TEC Higher Certificate in Telecoms and is a graduate of BT’s Telecommunications Masters Programme. He also holds a BA Honours degree and Post Grad Diploma in Business Studies.

Mr Stanton is married with two children.
