NEWLY QUALIFIED ADVOCATES FOR CRILL CANAVAN
Isle News, 10 October 2009 – Crill Canavan is delighted to announce that two of their lawyers have recently achieved the status of Advocate.
Paul Wilson and Carl O’Shea were sworn in as Advocates on the 3rd August 2009, having completed their final exams in May.
Advocate O’Shea joined Crill Canavan in September 2006 where he specialises in investment funds and trusts. He previously worked for the UK law firm Thomas Eggar.
Advocate O’Shea converted to law after graduating with a degree in Philosophy. He was called to the English Bar in 1998 before becoming an English solicitor in 2001.
He is ATT tax qualified and is the ATT members’ representative on the committee of the Jersey branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). Advocate O’Shea is also a member of both the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Legal and Technical committee of the Jersey Funds Association (JFA).
Advocate Wilson joined Crill Canavan in March 2001 and specialises in corporate and commercial work. He joined the firm from Bond Pearce, one of the principal regional law firms in the UK.
Having graduated with a degree in Law, Advocate Wilson qualified as an English solicitor in 1995 and has over 15 years experience dealing with buy-outs, acquisitions, mergers and reorganisations and advising on business regulation and all types of insolvency procedure.
Advocate Wilson is also the Money Laundering Compliance Officer for Crill Canavan.
Geoffrey Crill, Senior Partner of Crill Canavan is delighted with their exam success and subsequent swearing in.
