Mourant Bursaries awarded to Two Victoria College Students

Isle News, 4 June 2009 – Mourant International Finance Administration is delighted to announce that two students from Victoria College are the successful recipients of its 2009 Bursary Scheme award.

A record fifteen applicants applied for the bursary with Cameron Taylor and Simon Norman chosen as winners. Applicants took part in an assessment day designed to give them the chance to display their initiative and communication skills, followed by an interview where the candidates expressed their interests and career aspirations.

The bursary consists of financial sponsorship for each year of university, together with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at Mourant during holidays. Cameron and Simon will have the opportunity to work in a range of different areas within the business including fund and corporate administration as well as supporting roles such as marketing and HR to give them a good grounding of the diverse roles the finance industry offers.

Dave Crossland, Learning and Development Manager for Mourant International Finance Administration commented:

“We were impressed with every candidate that underwent the selection process this year. It provided real evidence that Jersey has a great pool of talent for the future. This made it extremely difficult to choose the winning candidates but Cameron and Simon were of a consistently high standard throughout.”

“Mourant is committed to nurturing local talent and I wish Cameron and Simon well with their studies and look forward to seeing their careers develop over the coming years.”
