MANX2.COM INCREASES FREQUENCY TO HELP PASSENGERS AFFECTED BY FLYBE DECISION

Isle News, 10 June 2009 – With Flybe’s announcement that it is to cease operating its Isle of Man to Blackpool flight, and reduce frequency on its Isle of Man to Belfast route from 12th July 2009, Manx2.com is showing its commitment to the island’s lifeline air routes by increasing the number of its flights to these destinations.

From Monday 6th July 2009, four return flights will operate every weekday between Ronaldsway and Blackpool, with three per day on Saturdays and Sundays. Flights will operate between 07.20 and 19.25, with a later evening departure time catering for commuters as well as leisure travellers.

Manx2.com will operate up to seven return flights per weekday between Ronaldsway and Belfast (both City and International airports) including a 17.40 return flight from Belfast to cater for those with business across, two return flights on a Saturday and four on a Sunday.

Noel Hayes, Chairman of Manx2.com, commented: “Flybe’s decision will undoubtedly affect a number of visitors to our island, so we will try and minimise disruption for these passengers as much as we can by offering them the opportunity to re-book with us at our every day low fares.

“From 6th July we will be offering four flights every weekday to Blackpool and upto seven flights per day to Northern Ireland, as well as a number of flights to both destinations every weekend.

“Any Flybe passenger who swaps to our Blackpool service will also be able to take advantage of our unique offer of upto two weeks’ free parking and access to the Executive Lounge at Blackpool Airport with free drinks and snacks.”
