King William’s College celebrate another successful year
Isle News, 9 July 2009 – King William’s is celebrating another year of success in the International Baccalaureate. 62 Upper Sixth pupils—a record number of candidates—took the examinations in May. When the results were published on July 6th, 100% achieved full certification with 60 being awarded the Diploma.
The average score achieved by College pupils was 33.4 points (out of a possible 45), which is equivalent to AAB at A2 and 4 A grades at AS. Over a third gained 36 points and above, achieving the equivalent of 3 A grades at A2 and 2 A grades at AS.
Principal Dr Sarah Welch commented, “I am delighted that the pupils’ hard work has been rewarded with such excellent results. Their achievement in the IB has secured them places on top UK and international university courses, and will continue to open doors for them in the future. To be able to reach such a high standard across a broad range of subjects shows just what talented and hard working young people they are. Everyone at College congratulates them and wishes them continued success.”
