EXTRA PLACES AVAILABLE FOR RECORD HIGH BUNGEE JUMP
Isle News, 30 July 2009 – The deadline is fast approaching for those still considering whether to make a leap of faith and take part in the Isle of Man’s highest ever bungee jump.
Scores of would be dare devils have already taken the plunge and opted to make the leap of 160 feet from a crane perched above the Royal Manx Show on Saturday August 8th.
A further 30 spaces have now been made available for the charity event which is being organised by the UK Bungee Club. It’s all in a good cause, with all proceeds going to the Isle of Man Children’s Centre.
Anyone over the age of 14 can take part and all you need to do is put forward a holding deposit of £30 and raise a further £75 in sponsorship.
The IOMCC’s Adventure Events Coordinator Mark Eastham said the bungee jump had been well supported but a limited number of extra places had now been freed up to cater for demand.
“We want to give as many people as possible the chance to participate in what will be a record-high bungee jump on the Island,” said Mark. “Whether you are an experienced bungee jumper or contemplating your first leap, this promises to be a spectacular opportunity and we are delighted to have the UK Bungee Club here to host the event for us.” Reassuringly, the Club has a 100% safety record
For anyone looking to secure a last minute slot, you’ll need to pay a £30 deposit before the day of the event. To do so, contact Mark Eastham on 676076 or markeastham@iomcc.org.im
