Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) to hold strategy event in Guernsey

Isle News, 9 June 2009 – Rising PR professionals are being encouraged to attend a one-day workshop entitled ‘Strategic Public Relations Planning’ on Wednesday 24 June.

Led by Paul Noble, who has more than 30 years’ experience in senior consultancy, in-house and academic PR, the course will focus on PR’s central concept – the link between communication activities and what the client is seeking to achieve.
The workshop has been organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Channel Islands Group and is designed for senior account executives and account managers with experience of tactical planning.

It will be participative, using an in-depth case study to discuss the key drivers of strategic planning, such as objective setting, positioning, direct communications and evaluation.

Chairman of the group, Jason MacKenzie, said: “This course is for communications and marketing professionals – people who have some experience in PR planning but want to take their understanding to the next level. Paul is a much respected member of the CIPR and chief examiner of the organisation’s Advanced Certificate – a training programme for burgeoning PR professionals“

I would urge our budding local practitioners to sign up for the workshop, which should be both informative and enjoyable,” he added.

This is the first of a planned series of training and events that the CI Group of the CIPR will bring to Guernsey over the coming year.

The course will be held at Specsavers and will run from 10am – 5pm. It will cost £125 for CIPR members and £175 for non-members. All those wishing to attend should contact Rozena Newell on 01534 629800 or email cipr@concept-comms.com.
